Meet Steve

A UCLA-trained psychologist and certified coach, I help clients from all walks of life find direction, meaning, and wellness - sometimes in a single session. I think one of my clients summed it up best when he said I had the “wisdom of a psychologist and the skills of a coach who’s been there.” For more information about my education, training, and professional experience, please visit my LinkedIn profile.

I provide coaching and psychotherapy for individuals with a wide variety of needs and from a wide variety of professional settings: mid-life career changers, cancer survivors/thrivers, executives, new through seasoned higher education professionals, academics (including those seeking to exit higher ed), undergraduate and graduate college students, and individuals seeking to transition into a fulfilling retirement and a new life.

I am an award-winning full professor emeritus of counseling with extensive teaching, counseling, research, consulting, and leadership experience in a wide variety of higher education settings. I am also an entrepreneur, pro-social investor, and author of the Kane Learning Difficulties Assessment (KLDA). Finally, I am very interested in the intersection of wellness, college and workplace success, and life/career planning in a chaotic and unpredictable world.
