I’m a nationally recognized expert in ADHD and learning disabilities and have assessed hundreds of clients with these conditions. I have over 25 years of experience as a clinical psychologist, learning disabilities psychologist, and administrator of a university disability resource center. I am the author of the Kane Learning Difficulties Assessment for adults and college students – an assessment used across the US and Canada. As a professor, my research on ADHD, LD, and psychological disorders has been published in some of the world’s leading academic journals including the Journal of Learning Disabilities,The ADHD Report, The Journal of Post-Secondary Education and Disability, and the Journal of Counseling and Development, among others.
I provide coaching and psychotherapy for individuals with a wide variety of needs and from a wide variety of professional settings: college students,mid-life career changers, cancer survivors/thrivers, executives, new through seasoned higher education professionals, academics (including those seeking to exit higher ed), and individuals seeking to transition into a fulfilling retirement and a new life.
I am an award-winning full professor emeritus of counseling with extensive teaching, counseling, research, consulting, and leadership experience in a wide variety of higher education settings. I am also an entrepreneur and photographer. Finally, I’m very interested in the intersection of wellness, college and workplace success, and life/career planning in a chaotic and unpredictable world.
